Contract Building Services recently welcomed pupils from Govan High School to the Elder Grove Court conversions project for a site tour.
The £1million project, now nearing completion, has involved the extensive remodelling of a very sheltered housing complex to create 11 individual main door flats.
The community benefits programme associated with the project enabled pupils from Govan High Schools` Pre-Apprenticeship Programme to visit a real time construction project.
After an initial welcome that included a safety briefing, the pupils were given an hour and a half tour of the site. They heard the latest on the works and viewed various working drawings and specifications, giving an insight on how they are used to execute a project..
Gavin Taylor, CBS Director said ‘‘It was a pleasure to welcome the pupils and their mentors to this prestigious site. Their excitement and interest was evident throughout the visit. As part of our progressive community benefits programme we have engaged closely with the local school to ensure the project has a positive impact to the local communities in which we work.”
